Frequently Asked Questions
How does the salary calculator convert between pay periods?
The calculator converts your salary across 8 pay frequencies: hourly, daily, weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly (24x/year), monthly, quarterly, and annual. It uses your work hours per week and days per week to compute accurate conversions for all periods simultaneously.
What is the difference between unadjusted and adjusted salary?
Unadjusted salary assumes you work every scheduled day of the year (52 weeks). Adjusted salary subtracts holidays and vacation days, showing your effective annual pay. The visual comparison bar helps you see exactly how much time off impacts your total earnings.
How do I use the holiday and vacation day adjustment?
Enter the number of paid holidays (default 11 for US federal holidays) and vacation days per year. The calculator subtracts these from your total work days and recalculates all 8 pay period amounts in the adjusted column.
Is my data safe?
Yes! All processing happens entirely in your browser. Your salary data is never sent to any server. No data is collected, stored, or transmitted.
How is semi-monthly pay different from biweekly pay?
Biweekly pay occurs every two weeks (26 paychecks per year), while semi-monthly pay occurs twice per month on fixed dates (24 paychecks per year). Semi-monthly paychecks are slightly larger because there are fewer of them.
