Frequently Asked Questions

What is an HSL color wheel?
An HSL color wheel displays colors arranged by hue in a circular format, with saturation increasing from center to edge. It provides an intuitive way to browse and select colors by visually understanding their relationships.
How do I pick a color from the wheel?
Click anywhere on the color wheel to select a color. The hue is determined by the angle around the wheel, and saturation by the distance from the center. Use the lightness slider below to adjust brightness.
What color formats are shown?
The tool displays your selected color in three formats: HEX (e.g. #FF6B35), RGB (e.g. rgb(255, 107, 53)), and HSL (e.g. hsl(20, 100%, 60%)). You can copy any format with one click.
Is my data safe?
Yes! All processing happens entirely in your browser. The color wheel is rendered using HTML5 Canvas. No data is sent to any server.
Can I use this for web design?
Absolutely. The HEX and RGB values can be used directly in CSS, and the HSL values are useful for creating harmonious color schemes. Copy any format and paste it into your stylesheet.
