About Color Picker from Image
Pick colors from any image. Get HEX, RGB, and HSL values with a magnifier loupe and dominant color extraction.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I pick a color from an image?
Upload an image by dragging it onto the drop zone or clicking to browse. Then click anywhere on the image to pick the color at that pixel. A magnifier loupe follows your cursor to help you target the exact pixel you want.
What color formats are supported?
The tool displays picked colors in three formats: HEX (e.g. #FF5733), RGB (e.g. rgb(255, 87, 51)), and HSL (e.g. hsl(14, 100%, 60%)). Each value has a copy button so you can quickly use it in your code or design tool.
How does the dominant color extraction work?
The tool samples pixels across your image and groups similar colors together using frequency analysis. It then returns the 5 to 8 most common colors as a palette, which is useful for creating color schemes based on photographs or artwork.
Is my data safe?
Yes! All processing happens entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images are never uploaded to any server. No data is collected, stored, or transmitted.
What image formats can I upload?
You can upload any common image format including PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP, SVG, and BMP. The image is rendered onto an HTML canvas for pixel-level color reading.
