About Discount Calculator

Calculate final price after percentage or stacked discounts.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate a discount on a price?
Enter the original price and discount percentage. The calculator instantly shows your savings amount and the final price you pay. For example, 25% off a $80 item saves you $20, making the final price $60.
How do stacked discounts work?
Stacked discounts apply sequentially, not additively. A 20% discount followed by a 10% discount does not equal 30% off. Instead, the second discount applies to the already-reduced price. For example, $100 with 20% then 10% off becomes $72, not $70.
What are common discount percentages for sales?
Common retail discounts include 10% for introductory offers, 20-25% for seasonal sales, 30-40% for clearance events, and 50% or more for end-of-season closeouts. The preset buttons in this calculator cover the most frequently used rates.
Is my data safe?
Yes! All processing happens entirely in your browser. Your data is never sent to any server. No data is collected, stored, or transmitted.
Can I calculate the original price from the sale price?
Yes, you can work backwards. If you know the final price and discount percentage, divide the final price by (1 minus the discount rate). For example, if an item costs $60 after a 25% discount, the original price was $60 / 0.75 = $80.
