How does the text diff checker work?
The tool splits both texts into lines and uses a longest common subsequence (LCS) algorithm to determine which lines are unchanged, added, removed, or modified. Results are displayed side by side with color-coded highlighting.
What do the different colors mean in the diff output?
Green highlights indicate lines that were added in the modified text. Red highlights indicate lines that were removed from the original text. Yellow highlights indicate lines that were modified between the two versions. Lines without highlighting are unchanged.
Can I ignore whitespace or case differences?
Yes. You can enable "Ignore whitespace" to treat lines with different spacing as equal, or "Ignore case" to treat uppercase and lowercase letters as identical. Both options can be combined.
Is my data safe?
Yes! All processing happens entirely in your browser. Your text is never sent to any server. No data is collected, stored, or transmitted.
